From cloth to kurta.

For the first-time unstitched buyer
A quick tailoring guide.
- Pre-shrink. Cold-wash the full piece once before cutting — especially cotton and mulmul. We pre-shrink most of our pieces before dispatch; the product page will say.
- Measure honestly. Bust, waist, hip, shoulder, sleeve. Your tailor can use an existing kurta you love as a reference.
- Keep the selvedge. The neat edge on each side — don't cut it off. It stops fraying and helps the tailor line seams.
- Dupatta last. Hem the dupatta after the kurta is done, so the border drapes with the finished piece.
